As part of Triangle Credit Union’s commitment to security and fraud prevention, we will require any membership that currently uses a Social Security number as a member number to convert to a system generated member number before December 15, 2025.
You can schedule an appointment at one of our branch locations, where a Financial Services Representative will complete the transfer of your accounts and guide you through the process of changing your member number.
To make this process even more convenient, you can select an appointment location, date, and time by clicking “Make an Appointment” below.
PLEASE NOTE: We are experiencing high appointment volume. Please look for availability 24-48 hours in advance for the best options.
Then, select “Membership/Accounts,” then “Update Member Number.”

Considerations For an Easy Conversion
We’ve created a process to make your conversion as smooth and seamless as possible; here are some areas you may want to review:
- Direct Deposit – If you are paid biweekly, you may want to consider scheduling your conversion to a new member number on a non-pay week. This will limit any issues in the event there is a disruption in your direct deposit. Triangle can provide new direct deposit forms that you can provide for your HR department. Depending upon the complexity of your payroll, some smaller organizations simply require a short email to the payroll/HR department to notify them your account has changed.
- What to do: Notify your HR or payroll department of your new direct deposit account number as soon as you convert to your new account number to minimize any delays in direct deposit.
- Automatic Payments – If you have automatic payments set up to pull from your account at outside merchants (ex. gym membership, streaming services, etc.), they should automatically convert to your new account number, but we encourage you to review your automatic payments and deductions to ensure all payments are processed accurately.
- What to do: Review your auto deductions; In the event your payment is not deducted, please notify the recipient that the payment has not been processed and notify member services to remedy the matter.
- Bill Pay – Payees and account history in Bill Pay will be transferred to your new membership; however, we recommend stopping any scheduled payments during your conversion to avoid any errors.
- What to do: Stop any scheduled payments before the conversion. After your account has been converted, review your Bill Pay payee account numbers to ensure all payees have been converted and schedule any future payments, as necessary.
- eStatements – Electronic statements (eStatements) will not be converted on your new account, and you must register for eStatements on your new account through online or mobile banking. Please take a moment to download your eStatements and retain them by saving the files to your computer.
- What to do: Register for eStatements in your new account’s online or mobile banking. Just remember, there is a $2 monthly fee for paper statements so take advantage of eStatements and re-enroll! If you need copies of statements in the future, please contact Member Services.
- New Checks – Checks affiliated with the old account are no longer valid and new checks will be issued for your new account number. Triangle will provide the first 25 checks.
- What to do: Shred all checks associated with your old account and set a reminder to order new checks when the starter checks are getting close to being used up.
Please make an appointment as soon as possible to update your member number. Our team is ready to assist you quickly and conveniently. For questions or assistance regarding this change, please email memberservices@trianglecu.org or call 603-889-2470.
